Flaunt it if you got it…

One of the things I do when working with a nonprofit for Fund Development is analyze what resources they have, understand how they are using them, and see if there are some new and different ways for use. The Sampson YMCA had a great example of this recently with their Night Swim Glow Party. They have an awesome outdoor pool that is for use by members. As a fundraising event, they opened the pool up to the community for a fee, bought some glow necklaces, and had a splashing good time. Not only did this raise funds, but it acted as a touchpoint and brought in people who weren’t members to see the facility. What a great way to use a resource with some creativity thrown in!
